The Market Intelligence Committee is a group of member volunteers representing all association segments. Together with the association's professional research staff the committee works to identify major shifts in aftermarket industry trends and assess the impact on current and future industry business practices. This information is provided to AAIA members on a timely basis through a series of annual and periodic reports as well as through updates published in the association's magazine, segment newsletters and web site.
Research publications range from the popular Aftermarket Factbook covering the latest industry data to in-depth studies on fast-growing domestic markets, promising international markets and shifts in aftermarket distribution channels. In addition, AAIA research produces periodic reports on retailer and wholesaler financial operating statistics, compensation practices, economic updates, quarterly aftermarket retail sales forecasts and consumer automotive maintenance and repair trends.
Current projects include research into consumer trends, industry segments, financial benchmarking and other current industry issues. With the merger of APAA and ASIA, the committee has expanded their focus to cover a broader spectrum of the aftermarket.
Standing committees primarily meet two times a year in conjunction with AAIA Leadership Days in the spring and fall, throughout the U.S., to provide direction and develop plans for the association. Some committees may meet an additional time and/or schedule various conference calls/Webinars. If your job responsibility coincides with any of the standing committees and you are interested in becoming more involved in AAIA, please complete a nomination form and include your relevant experience and qualifications. E-mail the form, along with an updated bio, to aaiacommittees@aftermarket.org.
