Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) Logomark Graphic Specifications

The logomark and signature are the principal graphic devices used to identify the Association.

Logomark
The AAIA logomark is comprised of two elements - the symbol (the graphic representation of the letters AAIA) and the logotype (the full name of the Association). The symbol and logotype must always be used as a unit.

All reproductions of the logomarks must be made from the reproduction proofs or digital files provided by the Association. These logomarks may not be redrawn, respaced, or altered in any manner. Logomarks on the reproduction proofs are in proportion to the signatures and are to be clipped directly from the proof sheets. The reproduction proofs include both horizontal and centered configurations. Logomarks should not be used smaller than the smallest configuration provided.

Altered versions of the AAIA logomark are unacceptable.

Signature
The signature identifies the originator (sender) of a communication, product or service. Logomarks with signatures are provided and should be used from this reproduction proof.

Clear Areas
A clear area around the logomark must be maintained. The clear area around the logo must be equal or greater than 2 times the cap height of the AAIA logotype.

Signature
The signature identifies the originator (sender) of a communication, product or service. Logomarks with signatures are provided and should be used from this reproduction proof.

Colors
The AAIA colors are PMS 445 (grey) and PMS 173 (orange). Process conversions of the PMS colors is acceptable for four color process pieces.

Positive Reproduction
The signature identifies the originator (sender) of a communication, product or service. Logomarks with signatures are provided and should be used from this reproduction proof.

Signature
When producing the AAIA logomark in a positive form, use of only the following configurations is acceptable.

  • The symbol prints in PMS 173 (orange) and the logotype prints in PMS 445 (grey)
  • The entire logomark prints in PMS 173
  • The entire logomark prints in PMS 445
  • The entire logomark prints in black

Any other color combinations are unacceptable.

Reverse Reproduction
The logomark may be reversed to white out of any solid color background color that provides sufficient contrast. Sufficient contrast can be defined as a color or screened percentage of a color that is dark enough to hold enough contrast for a white logomark. Generally, a screen of 50% or more is sufficient. However, this rule would not apply to lighter value colors such as pastels. If there are any doubts about the sufficient contrast of a background, contact the AAIA Communications department.

Background Control
Do not apply a logomark in positive or negative form to a highly textured background. Do not apply a positive logomark to a background that does not provide sufficient contrast to the logomark.
